Harold S. Martin

Post by steve-in-kville »

Did anyone read any of his material? I heard he was quite popular but don't think I read any of his stuff.

I have. I appreciated much of his work and I perceived him to be a man of integrity. I was saddened to hear of his passing but feel he deserves heavenly peace after 93 years of service to the Lord.

I read a fair amount of his material. For years I was on the Bible Helps mailing list. I heard him preach a time or two.

I heard him preach and used some of his Bible Helps material when teaching an adult ladies Sunday School class. Interestingly he was a public school math teacher for 26 years and sometimes spoke of his experiences from his time of teaching. Harold and Priscilla had a daughter Berdene, who struggled with a cancerous brain tumor behind the face for numerous years until she died. While she was in the midst of cancer treatment, the mother-in-law was in an accident with the grandson along, Berdene's little boy, and he was killed.
