Freight trains, can't believe it's the end of the year, and random posts!

When it just doesn't fit anywhere else.

Sometimes sacrificing have to be made. Even if you don’t want more meat, yes sir. Same as “printing/copying” blank sheets of paper and throwing them away to offset the recyclers.

My pet peeve (well, one of a long list) is the statement "This page intentionally left blank." If that shows up in a document I'm reviewing, it gets a comment: "No it isn't."

Yah, that is bad. The purpose is to just waste paper, not toner.

We decided those sheets are good for starting a fire in the wood stove.

But that is releasing carbon back into the atmosphere, isn’t it?

Might be better to just buy reams of new paper, and sequester all that carbon long term by placing the whole ream straight into the landfill. Additional environmental benefits are that new trees get planted to replace the ones that were logged. And we are creating jobs for loggers and mill workers and truck drivers. And without the use of harsh chemicals that are found in printing ink.

Might even get a carbon credit or two from the government for doing this.

Remember to seal it with shellac first so that it doesn't biodegrade.

Right. Maybe the way to go is to do it by the bale/pallet instead of ream. Just buy pallets of paper, shellac them, take them straight to the dump.

If the carbon credits are valuable enough, it may even be profitable in addition to saving the enviroment.

The volcanoes erupting around the world put out more carbon than woodstoves. I am not worried about it. Another recent study came out that scientists say we should have more CO2. Personally, I let God deal with it as He is quite good about perfecting all things. :D
