“Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes jailed for fraud”
Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has been sentenced to over 11 years in prison for defrauding investors in her blood testing start-up that was once valued at $9bn (£7.5bn).
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-63685131
The former Silicon Valley star falsely claimed the technology could diagnose disease with just a few drops of blood.
Holmes, 38, who is pregnant, tearfully told the court she felt "deep pain" for those misled by the scam.

She was found guilty in January after a three-month trial.
Everything in this report is awful.

E Homes was a Stanford University dropout, Sam Bankman-Fried is the son of two Stanford U. law professors.
Serious heart issues may be the norm rather than the exception in these rarified circles.

Elizabeth Holmes: From tech star to convicted fraudster
Holmes is expected to appeal against the sentence, which was handed down on Friday in a California court.

Once hailed as the "next Steve Jobs", she was at one time said to be the world's youngest self-made billionaire.

She launched Theranos after dropping out of Stanford University at age 19, and its value rose sharply after the company claimed it could bring about a revolution in the diagnosal of disease.
But the technology Holmes touted did not work and - awash in lawsuits - the company was dissolved by 2018.
She has a child and is expecting another.

2015 / Clinton Global Initiative / President Clinton speaks with Elizabeth Holmes and Jack Ma (2015 CGI Annual Meeting) / 37min
Description:
A special conversation on “The Future of Equality and Opportunity" with with President Clinton and Founder and CEO of Theranos Elizabeth Holmes and Executive Chairman of the Alibaba Group Jack Ma, during the Closing Plenary Session of the 2015 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting
Listening to fraudsters can be hypnotic. And frightening. Two, side-by-side, fascinating. And frightening.

Not present, Elizabeth’s partner and lover:
Sunny Balwani:
On July 7, 2022, Balwani was found guilty on all counts and faced up to 20 years in prison and millions of dollars in restitution. He received a sentence of 12 years 11 months in prison, plus three years of probation on December 7, 2022.
^^The press seems more interested in Elizabeth than Sunny, but, my perception is, they were fully in it together.

VOCAL FRY

Vocal Fry / Creaky Voice
viewtopic.php?t=6286

Some reports note the difference in Elizabeth’s voice, for instance, when talking with Bill Clinton, or speaking on TED TALKS,
compared with her “normal” or even plaintiff voice, used in court.

The voice aspect is interesting.

AMBITION. GREED. CHARM. No moral compass.

Disturbing.
It would be hard to find anything that would make a better case for seeking Truth through Jesus Christ.

All the deceit, lies, power - - the EAGERNESS of men in the highest places to buy into the web of utter lies - - is shocking.
Where is THEIR culpability?? There were so many. Most living, protected from scandal??

In Part 2, the psychology of lies is explored. To repeat, making the case to seek Jesus Christ.
The world without Jesus is saturated in sin.

One thing i don’t believe they included, i believe EH got away with so much - - because she recognized what people WANTED TO BELIEVE, then she provided it, in abundance. THEY WANTED HER LIES TO BE TRUE. Nearly all of them.

It’s hard to imagine how hard it must have been to be a whistleblower in the face of the extraordinary false world she, and many willing (accomplices) created. Some saw it as pure foolishness from the first sober look. It must have been a bizarre experience.

Description:
IMPORTANT POINT.
Many of the studies referenced in this video come from Dan Ariely's book The Honest Truth About Dishonesty.
Since creating this episode some evidence has come out that studies of this type contained false data.
None of the studies I referenced have been questioned yet, but it's worth listening to this with scepticism.

Most of us have heard that Elizabeth Holmes is a pathological liar.
How she coned investors out of billions.
But few of us know why she did it, why her employees endorsed her and why so many of us believe her.

In this episode of Nudge, I study the psychology behind dishonesty and attempt to reveal the psychology of a liar.
PART 2
Phill Agnew / Nudge Podcast / “Elizabeth Holmes: Why people believed her (part 2)” / 36min
Description:
The company that boasted of transforming the medical industry with a single drop of blood was discovered to be a complete hoax.
In this two-part series, we'll examine why Elizabeth Holmes lied and how people came to believe her.

In part one, we dug into the reasons behind Holmes' deception and how others in her company joined her.
But in this episode, we answer the question on everyone's mind: how did she manage to convince so many people to believe her lies?

Well, it all comes down to the nudges, heuristics, and behavioural science principles that she relentlessly employed.

From the way she presented herself to the language she used, we'll break down exactly how she manipulated and persuaded people. Tune in to learn how Holmes persuaded so many.

^^i don’t see names of Bill Clinton, Henry Kissinger, or others in this article. Quite a laundry list she gathered.
A sober reminder that these men in high places are men, indeed, not super-men. They endorsed her, enabled her.

Only one God. ✝️
