In this thread, I'd like to identify some of the most common "conspiracy theories".

For the record, I acknowledge that those who believe "conspiracy theories" think that the rest of us are the ones who have bought into conspiracies. So that is why I put "conspiracy theories" in quotation marks. There have been times throughout US history whenever the masses were believing something that was not true and eventually it became obvious that they were the ones being duped.

So in this thread, I want to identify what are some of the most common or popular theories that are not believed by the majority of Americans.

Please keep partisan comments/debates out of this thread - avoid comments that reflect negatively on either right-leaning or left leaning political persuasions. Please keep this thread focused on the topic.

My updated avatar says it all. I wear that shirt to work on casual Fridays from time to time. HR hasn't made me take it off .... yet.

To that end, we are coming up on the 60th anniversary of JFK's assassination. Don't get me started on how/why and/or who killed him. We'll be here for days.

In our travels we see a lot of shops advertising ‘Big Foot’. Some shop owners are honest enough to admit it is for baiting customers.

JFK was killed by the CIA because he was gonna shut them down.

The Sandy Hook school shooting was faked.

9/11 was an inside job to pass the Patriot Act.

The first moon landing was faked.

I'm not sure what to call it but in the 90's there was a mass panic over satanic child abduction/ abuse. There are people still in prison convicted with no evidence except the unconscious memories of children that can only be revealed by specialists. Focus on the family went in big on it.

How about homeopathic medicine, does that count as alternative.

As a child I remember hearing a conversation about small color coded signs on interstate highways that represented the initial stages of a national plan to imprison Christians in hidden camps.

There were end times adjacent theories about the European Union as a precursor to global government.

Some "alternative theorists" believe all sorts of things. Others believe only a few things. I'm wanting to know what the top ten are (that nearly anyone who is a "minor alternative theorist" is likely to believe.

Yes, I suppose anything that conflicts with the American Medical Association's beliefs could be considered an alternative. Some alternative health practices are much more believable to me than others.
