At the end, I tilted back a bit, There was a plane landing at the airport and I wanted to make sure it was in frame.

Saturday I stopped at Home Depot to do some price checking. There was this Amish man in the electrical aisle asking the associate on how to wire something.

I kept hearing the Amish man ask "but why can't I just do it this way?" The associate kept repeating "because that isn't safe. You'll burn something down!".

The Amish man replied "but that will cost more!"

I sorta wanted to intervene (like to think I know my way around this stuff) but instead I walked away shaking my head

Do you suppose the Amish man may have been winding up the associate? Some Amish do in my experience and they can keep a straight face while about it. They can out-droll a Brit.

It is their sense of humor, akin to inviting the vacuum salesman inside to demonstrate the vacuum when there are no plugs in the house; then watching him search for a plug.

This was half ignorance and half being stingy.
