I think more people want to abolish standard time. I'm all for abolishing DST.

i’m not so sure. politics sure seem to go toward eliminating standard time.

this isn’t a very well worded poll, but, it seems, out of 68 votes so far,

26 just want to end changing, it’s been twice yearly.
11 prefer Standard.
9 want DST to “go away!”
46

9 Yes!
13 prefer DST.
22

22 of 68 clearly prefer DST.
At most it’s close to 50/50, if the ambivalents are split.

But, in politics, i haven’t notice Standard discussed.

:? :? If Standard was the choice of states, i believe they could choose Standard without Congress.
Which brings the question, if Congress makes DST law for the U.S., what about states, like AZ, that already do not change? (i don’t know.)

IT’S COMING: MARCH 14, 2021

Illinois representative introduces bill to eliminate daylight savings time
https://www.centralillinoisproud.com/ne ... ings-time/
HB2609

If i understand correctly, individual states can decide to eliminate DST.
Choosing full-year DST requires an act of Congress.

NOVEMBER 7. Fall back.

Jim Gaffigan visited Canada.
About 5 min in, he mentions a particular time zone .. Newfoundland ..

Which brings up questions about unusual time zones. :)

“Half Hour and 45-Minute Time Zones”
By Anne Buckle
“While most time zones differ from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) by a number of full hours, there are also a few time zones with both 30-minute and 45-minute offsets.”
https://www.timeanddate.com/time/time-z ... sting.html

”Here are some of the world’s most stupid time zones”
“As citizens in the great nation of the Royal Observatory at Greenwich, the Prime Meridian, and the official designated centre of the world, we Brits can forget the bizarre ridiculousness of time zones.”

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you.

Easily fixed by starting school later.
Not so easily fixed by starting the school day later. If you shift the school day an hour later, to say 9:30 instead of 8:30 then you have millions of parents who need to leave for work an hour before their kids leave for school. So you fix that by starting the work day later and then the normal business day shifts from 9-5 to 10-6. And then we are right back to where we started.
Virtually everyone in America has a school bus or other public transportation to get to school.
