To bad we left abandoned sun dial time in favor of fiat time.
I miss sun dials. Bring them back globally. Image

Reports seem to reflect “the official decision” is about establishing Daylight Saving Time as the constant+norm.
Before the poll was lost, as i recall, the majority wanted a decision to end biannual clock changes, either way, standard or DST.

It appears standard time is being shelved (in Congress).

Interesting to read, Hawaii has barely toyed with DST, ever!

.. Hawaii opted out of Daylight Saving Time 50+ years ago.

Having said no to DST a half-century ago, Hawaii is still waiting for the rest of the county and the rest of the world to eliminate this practice of changing time. Hawaii once tried DST back in 1933, but only for three weeks.

On April 26, 1933, the Territorial Legislature passed a bill that placed Hawaii on DST from the last Sunday of April all the way to September’s last Sunday. On May 21, 1933, three weeks after passing the law, the law was revoked. It was in effect again during World War II, when it was called Hawaiian War Time.

Hawaii officially opted out of the Uniform Time Act in 1967. ..

I really wonder why clocks can’t just strike noon at high noon.
If people really want to be an hour ahead… just get up an hour earlier. Run your business or school from 7-4 instead of 8-5.

CBS:
Will we "fall back" in 2023? Yes.
Americans in most states will have to turn their clocks back an hour on Sunday, Nov. 5, when standard time resumes.
It will last until the second Sunday of March 2024, when daylight saving time starts again.

It occurred to me this morning to wonder what happens to that extra hour, if someone dies between Spring and Fall?
