Betty brought some herring and crackers and cheese as well as fresh Meadow Tea for lunch.
That's a new one for me, although I want to try it. Wayne's thread as well as some of the responses from my other food threads got me thinking of foods that seem to always be paired together: grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Plain salad and hot bacon dressing. Popcorn and ice cream for Sunday supper. Stuff like that.

In the spirit of participation, there are very few foods I dislike and can eat very nearly any combination. It is easier to simply list that to which I will give a wide berth: offal meats. I am sure some of it may be a psychological aversion. It started with pork brains and scrambled eggs. I first had this as a child and had a touch of the flu. Of course that triggered a nauseous reaction that is indelibly etched into my food associations for the rest of my life.

I enjoy liver and onion when its made fresh. I'd never get it from a buffet. Chicken hearts and onion is another combo I enjoy, provided the chicken hearts are made right.
