What type of paint do Amish use?

I notice in a lot of Amish homes there are non-textured walls and non-textured ceilings with very shiny white paint. I'm sure it is that way for durability of paint and being able to be washed. I'm curious if this is any special type of paint.
I was figuring it was just high gloss enamel or exterior high glass enamel painted inside. It just doesn't look like ordinary interior paint.
