Normally, my day starts with a smoothie I typically make the night before. When I hit up the diner on my days off, its eggs, hashbrowns and maybe a side like ham or scrapple.

I love biscuits and gravy but I'll spend the rest of the day feeling like I ate a brick.

Oatmeal made with Steel Cut oats, soaked in boiling water and milk overnight or cooked slowly in the morning. Drenched with half-and-half and a spoon of dark maple syrup with some fruit sprinkled on top. That's becoming my standard breakfast lately.

Steve, what do you have in your smoothie?

I like a variety of things for breakfast, but nothing too sweet or I don't feel good.
This morning I had scrambled egg, with cheese & toast and black cherry yogurt.

Alternate between chia seed pudding with some fresh fruit, baked oatmeal- not sweet- with yogurt, a cinnamon baked GF coconut/oatmeal bake with yogurt or steel cut oats cooked in almond milk with chia seeds.

Rarely change from this.

My go-to for breakfast is:

3 bananas
1 Scoop of chocolate protein powder
Cold coffee

No carbs in my breakfast. Scrambled eggs topped with a small amount of cheese and a dollop of ketchup.

But if I had my pick, it would be toast. I heard a dietician say once, that anything that has the word "cake" in it should not be eaten at breakfast.
