Not LDS.. I live in an area with more LDS than most, and I know more LDS than most... so I may know more about LDS than most. That's all.
I'm attracted to many of their hymns, yes. In my opinion they continue to produce very high quality hymns... Many protestant groups fail quite royally in recent attempts at hymns. I'll also admit that along with Anabaptistism, I align quite a lot with Restorationism. But that's no discussion for this thread.
I see where you question comes from, as I've mentioned multiple LDS hymns in this thread. After the brief discussion on "Come, Come, Ye Saints" I simply wanted to ask about a few others I know and enjoy.

Beautiful music - super singing, but light on words, very repetitive.Wade wrote:

Characteristics of Negro Spirituals. It's the result of an oppressed and smitten people- ones denied literacy. Then, the ones who could read were given twisted and mutilated Scripture.Hats Off wrote:Beautiful music - super singing, but light on words, very repetitive.
I enjoy the spirit behind them. We sang "Were You There?" yesterday at church. Even more simple and repetitive than this.

Re: Hymn Share
This song came to mind the other day on my walk and I tried hard to remember the words. The first verse I could remember and the refrain and I thought am I dwelling in Beulah Land as described here. Away from the noise and strife and doubt and fear and violence of this world. Living in a realm of 'cloudless skies', 'drinking from a fountain that never will run dry', 'feasting on the manna from a bountiful supply'. Living unmoved from the doubts and fears of this world. Knowing I'm safe and secure as the scriptures say. Hearing God's voice, following His plan, dwelling in the Spirit.
I love this hymn as it reminds me of what the Kingdom now should be like. An old Pentecostal and Evangelical Baptist favourite. Probably one of those hymns my father heard coming through the church windows when one day he went inside and gave his heart to the Lord.
A typical rendition I remember as a youth -

Far away the noise of strife upon my ear is falling;
Then I know the sins of earth beset on every hand;
Doubt and fear and things of earth in vain to me are calling;
None of these shall move me from Beulah Land.
Refrain:
I’m living on the mountain, underneath a cloudless sky,
I’m drinking at the fountain that never shall run dry;
Oh, yes! I’m feasting on the manna from a bountiful supply,
For I am dwelling in Beulah Land.
Far below the storm of doubt upon the world is beating,
Sons of men in battle long the enemy withstand;
Safe am I within the castle of God’s Word retreating;
Nothing then can reach me—’tis Beulah Land.
Let the stormy breezes blow, their cry cannot alarm me;
I am safely sheltered here, protected by God’s hand;
Here the sun is always shining, here there’s naught can harm me;
I am safe forever in Beulah Land.
Viewing here the works of God, I sink in contemplation;
Hearing now His blessed voice, I see the way He planned;
Dwelling in the Spirit, here I learn of full salvation;
Gladly I will tarry in Beulah Land.

Re: Hymn Share
Give me the faith which can remove
Give me the faith which can remove and sink the mountain to a plain;
Give me the childlike praying love that longs to build thy house again;
Thy love, let it my heart o'erpower, and all my simple soul devour.
I would the precious time redeem, and longer live for this alone:
To spend and to be spent for them who have not yet my Savior known;
Fully on these my mission prove, and only breathe, to breathe thy love.
My talents, gifts, and graces, Lord, into thy blessed hands receive;
And let me live to preach thy word, and let me to thy glory live;
My every sacred moment spend in publishing the sinner's Friend.
Enlarge, inflame, and fill my heart with boundless charity divine,
so shall I all my strength exert, and love them with a zeal like thine,
and lead them to thy open side, the sheep for whom the Shepherd died.
Charles Wesley, 1749
