There’s a land where all are blest,
Land of love,
Where redeemed ones are at rest,
Land of love;
There we’ll sing our Savior’s praise,
In transcendent, joyful lays,
Throughout ceaseless, heav’nly days,
Land of love.
Refrain
Land of love, land of love,
Throughout ceaseless, heav’nly days,
Land of love,
In transcendent, joyful lays,
We will sing our Savior’s praise,
Throughout ceaseless heav’nly days,
Land of love.
There amid celestial green,
Land of love,
Viewing glories here unseen,
Land of love;
We shall cease from toil and care,
Bask in genial, fragrant air,
Dwell with angels bright and fair,
Land of love.
Refrain
With the ransomed gone before,
Land of love,
Gathered on the golden shore,
Land of love;
We shall sit at Jesus’ feet,
And love’s tribute oft repeat,
There our rest will be complete,
Land of love.
Refrain

THE SECRET PLACE

I

MY HEART IS LIKE A HOUSE, ONE DAY I LET THE SAVIOR IN
THERE ARE MANY ROOMS WHERE WE WOULD VISIT NOW AND THEN.
BUT THEN ONE DAY HE SAW THAT DOOR I KNEW THE DAY HAD COME TOO SOON
I SAID JESUS I'M NOT READY FOR US TO VISIT IN THAT ROOM

CHORUS 1

THERE'S A PLACE IN MY HEART WHERE EVEN I WOULDN'T GO
I HAVE SOME THINGS HIDDEN THERE I DON'T WANT NO ONE TO KNOW
BUT HE HANDED ME THE KEY WITH TEARS OF LOVE ON HIS FACE
HE SAID I WANT TO MAKE YOU FREE LET ME GO IN YOUR SECRET PLACE.

II

SO I OPENED UP THE DOOR AND THE TWO OF US WALKED IN
I WAS SO ASHAMED I'D REVEALED MY HIDDEN SIN.
BUT WHEN I THINK ABOUT THAT ROOM NO I'M NOT AFRAID ANYMORE
FOR I KNOW MY HIDDEN SIN NO LONGER HIDES BEHIND THAT DOOR.

CHORUS 2

THERE WAS A PLACE IN MY HEART WHERE EVEN I WOULDN'T GO
I HAD SOME THINGS HIDDEN THERE I DIDN'T WANT NO ONE TO KNOW
BUT HE HANDED ME THE KEY WITH TEARS OF LOVE ON HIS FACE
HE MADE ME FREE I LET HIM IN MY SECRET PLACE.

CHORUS 3

IS THERE A PLACE IN YOUR HEART WHERE EVEN YOU DON'T GO
YOU HAVE SOME THINGS HIDDEN THERE YOU DON'T WANT NO ONE TO KNOW
WELL HE'S HANDING YOU THE KEY WITH TEARS OF LOVE ON HIS FACE
HE WANTS TO MAKE YOU FREE LET HIM GO IN YOUR SECRET PLACE.

This one moves me every time we sing it:

God of the Poor (Beauty for Brokenness)
by Graham Kendrick -

Beauty for brokenness
Hope for despair
Lord, in your suffering
This is our prayer
Bread for the children
Justice, joy, peace
Sunrise to sunset
Your kingdom increase!

Shelter for fragile lives
Cures for their ills
Work for the craftsman
Trade for their skills
Land for the dispossessed
Rights for the weak
Voices to plead the cause
Of those who can't speak

Chorus:
God of the poor
Friend of the weak
Give us compassion we pray
Melt our cold hearts
Let tears fall like rain
Come, change our love
From a spark to a flame

Refuge from cruel wars
Havens from fear
Cities for sanctuary
Freedoms to share
Peace to the killing-fields
Scorched earth to green
Christ for the bitterness
His cross for the pain

to Chorus

Rest for the ravaged earth
Oceans and streams
Plundered and poisoned
Our future, our dreams
Lord, end our madness
Carelessness, greed
Make us content with
The things that we need

to Chorus

Lighten our darkness
Breathe on this flame
Until your justice
Burns brightly again
Until the nations
Learn of your ways
Seek your salvation
And bring you their praise

to Chorus 2x

I'm Too Far Upon My Journey

Cho:
I'm too far upon my journey friend to ever,
Think of turning back into this world of sin,
Well, I may not be the first one in the kingdom,
But I'll be glad if I can only make it in.

V1.
Well it's not unto the one who prays the loudest,
Nor unto the one who speaks his words the best;
But it's promised to the one who is true and faithful,
To the one who overcomes and stands the test.

Cho:
I'm too far upon my journey friend to ever,
Think of turning back into this world of sin,
Well, I may not be the first one in the kingdom,
But I'll be glad if I can only make it in.

V2.
It's so dangerous to have your vision blinded,
It's so dangerous to have a carnal mind;
But if we follow in the footsteps of our Savior,
Heaven can be yours, the same as mine.

Just discovered this song tonight.

Saviour Again

Saviour, again to Thy dear name we raise,
With one accord our parting hymn of praise;
Once more we bless Thee ere our worship cease,
Then, lowly kneeling, wait Thy word of peace.

Grant us Thy peace upon our homeward way;
With Thee begun, with Thee shall end the day;
Guard Thou the lips from sin, the hearts from shame,
That in this house have called upon Thy name.

Grant us Thy peace, Lord, thro’ the coming night;
Turn Thou for us the darkness into light;
From harm and danger keep Thy children free,
For dark and light are both alike to Thee.

Grant us Thy peace throughout our earthy life,
Our balm in sorrow, and our stay in strife;
Then, when Thy voice shall bid our conflict cease,
Call us, O Lord, to Thine eternal peace.

(Same tune as “Lead Us O Father In Thy Paths Of Peace”.)

The Love of God (Frederick Lehman 1917) wrote: The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell
The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win
His erring child He reconciled and pardoned from his sin.

O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure, the saints and angels' song.

When hoary time shall pass away, and earthly thrones and kingdoms fall
When men who here refuse to pray on rocks and hills and mountains call
God's love so sure shall still endure, all measureless and strong
Redeeming grace to Adam's race, the saints and angels' song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill and every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.

O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure, the saints and angels' song.

When I saw this thread, this is the song I thought to post, and what a surprise to see it as the first post. This may be my favorite hymn from our Hymns of Zion hymnal.

The love of God is my favorite topic for hymns. When faith vanishes into sight, the love of God will "forevermore endure, the saints' and angels' song."

We Need to Thank God

CHORUS:
We need to thank God for all that we have:
The Cross, the Word, and the Blood of the Lamb,
A Savior who prays, a Spirit who stays,
Sealing us unto redemption day,
A Heavenly Father who cares for our needs,
Provider of all the gifts we receive.
I don't know about you, but friend I believe
We need to thank God.

VERSE 1:
We think that life should always be fair,
We make a mistake when we try to compare,
Sure God is concerned about what we need,
But there's more than whats here, there's eternity.
The grass is not greener on the other side,
Since the Garden of Eden, that's been satan's lie
We need to confess how much we've been blessed,
We need to thank God.
CHORUS

VERSE 2:
The evil swim in an ocean of gain,
While the righteous drown in a river of pain,
And sometimes it seems that God doesn't care,
That the wicked get wealthy, while his people despair,
But there's an appointment that all men will keep,
Those souls without God won't like what they reap.
When we consider their end, and the wages of sin,
We need to thank God.
CHORUS
