Quotable quotes

Mankind has been attempting to fix itself since Adam and Eve tried to cover themselves with fig leaves (Genesis 3:7). The "gospel" of social justice is merely another fig leaf. This world doesn't need fixing, it needs redeeming; it doesn't need solutions, it needs a Savior.

“How can we worship a homeless man on Sunday and ignore one on Monday?”

We need to bring the message of the Gospel as a part of the meal we give him or her.

Instead of just walking past and ignoring him.

I’m pretty sure no one is doing that here: unless they’re spending hours arguing on the internet

They were intellectuals, excited by ideas more important to them than people. Self-identified intellectuals were among the most dangerous people on the planet. The problem was, all intellectuals self-identified as such before others accepted their status and sought them for words of wisdom. They didn't need to pass a test to confirm their brilliance, didn't appear before a credentialed board by which they needed to be certified.
It was easier to be celebrated as an intellectual than to get a hairdresser's license.
Quoted from a novel by Dean Koontz.

IMO there is a significant amount of truth to that, and can also be applied too often in the area of "Christian counseling".

 :laugh Indeed! It is very important to check both the credentials and the creed when seeking a Christian counselor. Both are equally important: the creed (beliefs) should match your own. The credentials should be from an institution that shares your creed as well.

Some of the most generous people,
have no money.

Some of the wisest people have no education.

Some of the kindest people were hurt the most.

“Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws.

The Hingefreel people of Arkintoofle Minor did try to build spaceships that were powered by bad news but they didn't work particularly well and were so extremely unwelcome whenever they arrived anywhere that there wasn't really any point in being there.”

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

From ~ 60 years ago:
We live in a sensate age. We are no longer governed by faith, we are no longer governed by reason. We are governed by feelings.
