Does anyone have any experience cooking with an Instant Pot? I just bought one since they are on sale for only $79 on Amazon. http://amzn.to/2gF4458

Ah, this has nothing to do with medical marijuana.ragpicker wrote:Does anyone have any experience cooking with an Instant Pot? I just bought one since they are on sale for only $79 on Amazon. http://amzn.to/2gF4458

Is it biblical? Is it Christlike? Is it loving? Is it true? How can I find out?

My wife uses a similar one when she wants tender meat in a shorter amount of time and without heating the oven. She likes to use it in the summer so it doesn't heat up the inside of the motorhome.

Re: Instant Pot Advice (On sale for $79)
we grew up with and used pressure cookers often.
i used one when the family was young.
my daughter recently bought one much like yours, rp!
they were great for cooking chickens, esp for chicken and noodles, chicken to be used in Mexican and Asian recipes. they save time, and, heat in the kitchen. definitely.
great for pot roasts.
tasty stock. we used to eat a lot of soup.
they do not brown. for my use that did not matter.
you can brown meat before putting in the pressure cooker.
i never used for vegetables. you can.
my mil had a story about cooking beets in a pressure cooker -
the air release got plugged, the whole thing exploded all over their kitchen!
no one was hurt, no damage, but, she said the kitchen looked like a murder scene!
beans and peas can be culprits in clogging the air release.
i don't have experience with the new digital ones -
but i think they would work great.
i see they now have plastic liners for super-easy clean up.
for me, cleaning the bulky thing was the only problem, but not worse than any other big pot.
not hard to clean. just awkward.
they were used for canning, too.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -

These have a stainless steel liner you just lift out and wash. I believe you can even brown with these. Crazy stuff.temporal1 wrote: for me, cleaning the bulky thing was the only problem, but not worse than any other big pot.

i thought, after, these are electric, so likely no immersing the whole thing.
in those days, we had small kitchens, small sinks. but we managed!
since, i've had bigger, deeper sinks. so much nicer.
i miss being as strong as i was.

We cook with a lot of different herbs but we never rehydrate them first.
