Here's hoping it works for you!
gotcha! i wondered about that very thing, so, i will do it from the start. it will be be easiest right then, with everything clean+dry.
i have enough caulk on hand, so, will plan on it.

if the adhesive does leak a bit, it might be best to not caulk on all sides, anyway.
it might work to inadvertantly seal in mold. best to allow for ventilation, even if slow.

i try to respect the need for ventilation all over the house, all year.

i'm pretty sure i would have the same problem you had with that corner.
an ounce of prevention .. :D
When I install these guards now I always caulk the whole inside seam to eliminate any problems with mold or leakage. There is NO ventilation down there as the moisture sits in those little gaps and rarely gets time to dry out in between showers, unless you dry it intentionally with a hair dryer each time.
When you clean, btw, use alcohol swabs for final cleaning, and do use a hair dryer to make sure that everything is totally dry.

Let us know how it works. Mine is still working fine, nearly 4 years later.

A year later .. :)
my caulk was doing fine until one day i bumped the shield-contraption, it broke loose. sigh.
in truth, somehow, i fell in the shower. don’t ask me how. i just did. it was never the same.
i wasn’t hurt, at all, not even a bruise, as i recall. (bruised ego.) :P

i didn’t want to buy another. it was still deflecting water. it was an annoyance for months.

until this afternoon. :D
i was buying duct tape when i spotted:
”Gorilla Double-Sided Mounting Tape.” Indoor-Outdoor 1” wide.
the width was great, no trimming needed.

i put it all together, and, think this will do the job.
i had caulk, so recaulked the inside seams.

the tape label warns it might damage some surfaces. this shower enclosure is acrylic, not fiberglass, hopefully, it will be ok. fiberglass may be ok, too. i’m not sure.

if i fall again (hopefully not) this thing is now so secure it will probably hurt me before it collapses. :-|

Hopefully you won't fall again! The Gorilla adhesive products are pretty handy around the motorhome too though they're more expensive than duct tape. It's an older mh and things are beginning to snap off or wear out.

She could always wrap herself in Gorilla double sided tape, that way she could stick to the vertical surfaces...

Personally, I prefer a little more privacy.

I'd be happy to sacrifice the privacy for the beauty. I once lived on a farm with an outhouse with a 2-part door. You could leave the top part open and look out over the hills while, in the unlikely chance another person was stepping up to it, they couldn't see your bottom half.
