Miscellaneous mental meanderings
A thread to throw all the tidbits that , while perhaps somewhat noteworthy, just don’t seem to deserve a thread all their own.

Re: Miscellaneous mental meanderings
From 1 Kings 8:9 “There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.”
This was as Solomon dedicated the temple.
My question is: what happened to the measure of manna and to Aaron’s rod that had budded? Were they removed? By whom? Were they not supernaturally preserved and simply disintegrated? If so, what was the purpose of placing them into the Ark of the Covenant to begin with?

Those are interesting points to ponder, Reflecting. I don't know the answer. It is curious, for sure.

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you.
I think I am funnier than I really am.

You are right Robert. In the end it really makes no difference and therefore it is only idle curiosity.Robert wrote:[bible]john 6,58[/bible]

Yet, we are told that the devil is in the details. So does that mean we should look for her there or should avoid looking so we don't find her?Reflecting wrote: You are right Robert. In the end it really makes no difference and therefore it is only idle curiosity.

Re: Miscellaneous mental meanderings
I’m going to share something about personal here this morning.
Twice recently God has really shown me the power we have in prayer.
One was a personal relationship just was not working well and finally I made a very conscious effort to diligently pray for that person and for my response to that person. It was absolutely amazing how God moved. (and will continue to move mountains when things get tense and I pray. )
The second one that stands out so strongly in my mind is a couple of weeks ago we had a sermon that really spoke to me about an area in my life where I was not living as I should. The following week I realized I had failed every day in the area where I was looking for victory. So As i met with my prayer partner, I ask for prayer in this area. It should come as no surprise to believers that the next week I had victory every single day. But I must confess it rather blew me away to think about it all.
I praise God for growth in seeing who he is and the power he wants us to live in.

Re: Miscellaneous mental meanderings
So, I have another question. (I know, no surprise, right? )
From 1Kings 18:43, how did Elijah have a servant?! Was this servant also fed by the birds by the brook? By the widow woman? This is just as Elijah was coming out of hiding. When/how would he have acquired his servant?

Re: Miscellaneous mental meanderings
I’m curious if the servant would by chance be the widow woman’s son. Elijah thought he was the only God-fearing person in Israel. ... of course he forgot about Obadiah.
