Thanks. I think I'm going to move everything over to my main domain. The other one was ok, but plenty bland. I had to find a better template that was more like I wanted.

Anyone here ever work with the Wordpress.org version of WordPress? I downloaded it but haven't had a chance to do anything with it. I should have taken a course in web design, but it works better for me to figure things out the hard way, for some reason.

This is a digression, I guess. But on MD I had a personal thread which I didn't bother restarting here. On there, I had a prologue for a book I was working on. I've finished the last chapter of the first draft and this is the Epilogue. [Almost all of my recent books have a prologue and an epilogue, for some reason...]

Epilogue

Grass and bushes have overgrown the old grave yard, today. Many of the old tombstones have toppled over. Most are illegible. But if you clear away some of the underbrush from what was once the fence row, you can still find some graves with readable markers. Buried here are a man and his wife and an infant son. They have rested here undisturbed for close to a century and a half.

All is quiet in the old graveyard. The old church is gone, and no one uses the graveyard anymore. Occasionally a fox or a squirrel will wander through it. But they do not disturb the deep slumber of the dead.

These are the forgotten ones. They have had their turn in this life and their earthly story is told. They have made their choices.

This will be you some day.

  • Just think, some night the stars will gleam
    • Upon a cold grey stone,

And trace a name with silver beam,
    • And lo! ‘twill be your own.

      • —Robert Service

An excellent and timely article, Lester. Very relevant for the secularistic values of our times.

2Tim. 3:16,17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
