Just got off the phone with a cousin. She went in for her usual EKG. She's a small lady, wears her plain jumpers and prayer cap. The doctor gave her a hospital gown and cousin said the thing was so large it could be a small tent.

While lying there hooked up to the electrodes, cousin asked the nurse if she could keep the gown. The nurse asked why, clearly puzzled this old gal wanted an ugly hospital gown. Cousin answered "Well it's large enough to go parasailing in it."

The nurse started laughing, which got the doctor laughing and of course cousin started laughing with them. It took about ten minutes before they could get a clear EKG reading

That's odd. I have always thought hospital gowns were more like the punchline in this joke:

Q: What do hospital gowns and insurance policies have in common?

A: Neither of them cover as much as you think they should.

It's more of our cousin's sense of humor. No one expects her to come up with these things, probably because of her clothing. But the thought of her going parasailing in a hospital gown sent both doctor and nurse into a laughing jag.
