As much as I love Beethoven, I have to go with Bach.

Yes. It's a cold, hard thread we have goin' on here.

You can keep having both in real life. Which is as it should be.

My parents tell me that when I cried as a baby, they would put on the only record they had - Beethoven's Fifth - and I would stop crying. But when I took Music Appreciation in HS, it was Bach that got my attention, and the first record I ever bought was Brandenburg Concerto. (The 2nd was the Beach Boys.... )

X2. Not going to choose. I enjoy both. It's like asking me which of my children I like best. They're all different and I love them for who they are. :D

Bach humbug.

A point of clarification: J. S. Bach or P. D. Q. Bach?

Me too. Karl Haas, concertos 2 and 4, in original instrumentation. I played that album so often I can remember long passages from start to finish, hearing the different voices.

(The Swingle Singers are great, btw.)
