Now Maria: Another Supercane

Maria became a Cat 5 yesterday evening. It will hit some of the same islands devastated by Irma. :pray

Jose is slowly moving towards the Virginia Tidewater/Chesapeake Bay Area, for now. It seems to wander all over the place.

Maria will be a bad storm for Puerto Rico and other parts of the Carribean.

Jose is already north of the Chesapeake. It looks to cause some heavy rain and rough surf along the NE seaboard (around NY and NJ), but doesn't appear to be a big deal as it likely won't make landfall. Nor is it a head-turning storm.

Maria looks to stay far from the U.S., thankfully.

Right now, the radio weather service is saying, "this is our best guess" but are leaving room to be wrong about Maria's path. There seems to be several conditions that are creating havoc with the algorithms in the various predictive formula models.

Sad. So much suffering. Missionary workers will have a lot to do afterwards.
