Well we've decided to stay on the road one more year and then settle in one of three states. We'll buy a new single wide and set up our dawdy abode on the farm of relatives and end our days there in gratitude for the life God has blessed us with.

Our campsite had been near a lake but the monsoons had us moving as the lake overflowed its banks. High and dry is a good thing in camping so we moved to a different campground. Life on the road is never boring.

High and dry is important when camping.
When camping near streams or any water, we would always look for signs of “high water marks” left from former rains/flooding. There have been some awful disasters with campers being washed away, esp at night, with flash floods. Rains may be distant, things may be dry, but, that can change quickly.
Everybody - Be careful! :D

Well, where we are moving to we will definitely be high and dry and we are in flood zone X. I have been on the road too much lately and am looking forward to the final move in 19 days, arriving in TN on the 31st of May. Stay dry my friend!

Glad to read this, from your video, it looked like you were high and dry.
TN has had times of terrible flooding.

I know you will be glad to be settled again. We are reaching that point now after full-timing for so many years. God's blessings on you! :pray

Looking back over this thread brings back some memories. Our travels will end but we have a lot of good memories from them.

We drove through TN a few weeks ago. Everything looks green again in Gatlinburg. Most of the homes have been rebuilt. The fires were horrific but there seems to be a sense of hope again there.

We've been looking at park models again and also singlewides. My wife wants one with at least two bedrooms so she can set up her sewing room again. I suggested getting a one bedroom and a shed for her sewing room. I got that "look".

Please pray for those in the path of Hurricane Dorian. That thing is a monster. We just evacuated a nephew and his family from the Florida east coast. Tired and hitting the hay . Good night.
