I was awakened with a call from another Plain Catholic to let us know NZ had another powerful earthquake so came on to request prayers.

Back to Sunday.
I'm here too, but because of miscommunication between my wife and I over where we were going today...

It was a true Sabbath Day for us, with no stress at all.

 The best kind: just you and the Lord!

The usual personalities are here in the cg:
-The hikers
-The neighborly types who visit other campers
-The cyber addicts who spend all their time on forums bloviating and ignore their spouses and others
-The BBQ chefs who always bring a bite to share
-The pet aficionados
-The grandparents
-The young families

Life continues as it has before :D

It's clear and cooler today, perfect autumn weather. The smells of bacon cooking had everyone hungry this morning.

There is a family here who've relocated to find a job. 4 children, 2 parents in a popup travel trailer. They don't have much but the children are happy and polite. We pray they can find a good job soon.

Thank you!

The Thursday crowd is arriving, most to spend Thanksgiving week. I spent the morning helping some park their RVs. The travel trailer people encounter the most difficulties when trying to back into their sites. Jack-knifing happens  One fellow became so frustrated with his inability to park that he came over to my site and asked me to park it for him. I pulled the rig out and went around the circle so that I could stop it at the correct angle. Then backed it in. Sometimes you just have to pull out of the spot and drive round to allow the hitch to straighten.

He was grateful and asked for a few other tips. I told him that years of driving farm equipment was good practice. He was an office businessman from the city and had never driven a TT before. God bless him for wanting to expand his horizons and skills.

Perhaps I should get those wands that airport crews use to guide planes into their spots.

There's an entire lexicon among RVers:
TT - travel Trailer
5er - fifth wheel trailer
TC - truck camper: camper mounted in a pickup truck bed
PU or just Pop Up - a trailer that folds down.
Tear Drop or mini trailer - essentially a bed on wheels

MH - motorhome
Among the MHs there are:
DP - diesel pushers, MHs that use diesel
Class A - usually a diesel, sometimes a Gas that looks like a large commercial bus. The drivers cabin is part of the living space.
Class B - van sized and shape, usually bought by empty nesters who on weekend trips though I've seen a family of 4 in one and the children slept in a tent next to the B.
Class C - essentially a box for the living quarters mounted on a truck chassis. There's usually a Cab-Over bed that extends over the cab. Some of the newer Cs use the cab-over as a space for storage cabinets.

Signing off the internet now (except for my email). We have a busy week of Thanksgiving prep. We're hunting this evening and Monday; Tuesday if need be.

Then there's the dressing of our prey and cleanup. If we take a couple deer, that will fill several freezers of family members. The butchering takes a full day.

May everyone here have a blessed time of praise and thanks to God with your family and friends.
