Here is the new fireplace unit. Wife had it decorated in about 5 minutes after I was done. She pretty much designed it. I just built it.

Today ..
we had a brown out, followed by a blackout/power outage.

my first brown out. weird. certain things worked, others didn’t some lights were dim, others on or off.

it was 70F today! breezy, sunny, not bad. Feb 26, mind you. (it will freeze tonight.)
not the typical time for loss of power.

i wonder how appleman’s trees are doing?

i was glad power was restored before dark!

Today ..
we could get severe thunderstorms, hail, possible tornadoes. i hope not.
however, when unseasonably warm temps occur mid-winter, big storms can result.

the power is on, it’s ok now. time will tell.

Today and yesterday and the day before... we had some trees go down in the last storm. The clearing up; the saw-up; the split-up and removal has taken some time. It was done by a local organisation that helps the poor with firewood. Most of the members are retirees but there are a few young men involved too. They are a chipper group.
