Conservative corner / “What’s on your mind?”
This thread is intended to be in the spirit of RZehr’s “Good things” threads, that is, a place to share about what more conservative folks (of the many varying definitions+descriptions) have on their minds - without criticism or rejection. “It’s ok to think.”
Thoughtful, interested questions should be ok. “Hope springs eternal.”
This topic has been on my mind for a long while, hopefully, it won’t just be about the 2020 election,
altho that may be my first post.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

Re: Conservative corner
My first question/observation about one of biden’s first “initiatives” is,
What is the difference between his “new” slogan, “restore the soul of America” versus MAGA?
In my view, this suggests he/they must have really liked the idea of MAGA.
They just insist on claiming it for their own.
How nice if they could have just been honest enough to appreciate it rather than attempt to annihilate it. What a different world we would now have. MAGA might be little remembered by now.
Rewording and rebranding, claiming ownership.
Frankly, i do expect a lot of this, rewording/rebranding.
‘Cause, it seems, these days, taking what other people have is a primary motivator.
DJT accomplished good things. There is plenty to take.
That’s a conservative thought/observation/question. ^^
No response or debate needed. No winner, no loser. It just is.

Re: Conservative corner
We do know that Biden is known for taking other people’s ideas. In 1987, when Biden was a presidential candidate, he plagiarized a speech made by British politician Neil Kinnock. Other allegations arose in that he had some law school plagiarisms. Also exaggerations on his law school academic records.temporal1 wrote:My first question/observation about one of biden’s first “initiatives” is,

So taking some of Trump's ideas, that worked, should be no surprise.

Re: Conservative corner
My viewpoint is that I have seen all of the rhetoric before. What matters are the actions of said politicians. Do their actions support my faith and civic values?
-Religious liberty?
-Protection of all life from womb to tomb?
-Freedoms protected by the Constitution and the protection of the integrity of that Constitution?
-Peace efforts with other nations?
Perusing voting records help as do the examination of executive orders. Checking for progress in creating peace internationally, certainly such as facilitating agreements between formerly hostile national entities (eg. the Mideast.)
That is if I vote. Which I do not.
YMMV.

If mods are willing, i’d prefer this thread be in the Homestead category.
Current events are ok, maybe unavoidable, the intent here is more of searching the heart+mind.
