Pregnancy complications (prayer request)

Post by ShantyShaker »

As of 6 weeks ago at an ultrasound appointment (24 weeks gestation), we learned that we were dealing with low amniotic fluid with this pregnancy. Two weeks later at a high risk doctor's office we learned there was virtually no fluid around the baby anymore. This points to quite possibly the baby not having kidneys as at this stage in pregnancy the baby starts making the amniotic fluid and the mother's body backs off in making amniotic fluid.
Low fluid levels also make it hard for the baby's lungs to develop as well. So the high risk doctors are giving a slim chance that the baby will live after birth.
So basically my prayer request is that we could continue leaning on God for strength and peace and that it is all in his hands anyway.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

Yesterday we were at another app with the high risk Drs we were referred to by our midwife. The Drs we talked to (OB, pediatric, pallative care) are 99% positive this baby will not survive birth. They say they will do what we ask for in care, but don't recommend any interventions.

And yet as thousands of people from around the world are praying for us and our unborn baby, my wife was hit with the revelation that came to her as she was thinking of something totally unrelated to this pregnancy "your baby will be born whole". So we are in kind of a quandary of trying to make the best decisions we can as this pregnancy draws to a close.

My wife has been getting depressed every time we go to these appointments, including yesterday's app.

We did set up a Facebook page for us to share updates on and the title is: "Prayers for Baby Shirk".

Is it biblical? Is it Christlike? Is it loving? Is it true? How can I find out?

I am praying for you all.

My heart goes out to you, as we have had our share of medical situations.

May your family will have God's peace, and trust Him through this all.
