Jalapeños and other very hot peppers seem to be an American regional preference that has been spreading around the nation. Mum never made anything that had spicy heat in the flavor but she did not have the money to invest in the fancier spices of Indian and Mediterranean cuisines. My wife will make a Jalapeño relish sometimes but a little of that goes a very long way with me. My guess is that my taste buds have not been seared into submission.

They're good, too. I have two daughters who love spicy food (as do I, within reason) and we can maul a pack between us.

French Onion Soup is easy+delicious.
It’s dependent on good crusty French bread, which isn’t always easy to find.

I went to the Hennepin Canal and caught some bluegills this afternoon. A great supper.

Absolutely would have if I’d have thought of it. I didn’t know where exactly you were.
I will next time.

I'm in Tiskilwa, about 8 miles south of Princeton. I'd be happy to meet others coming by Exit 56 of I-80 in Illinois if you are coming by, too.
