First of the harvest. I think a few of the squash needed to stay on vine a little longer.

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you.
I think I am funnier than I really am.

Re: In the Garden
Those younger squash look great to me- but I like them younger and less seedy.
Those green beans look great. Love them fresh- both raw and steamed.
Picking snow peas and cutting heads of Romaine. My blueberries are beginning to show signs of changing and ripening.

We had a duck once that thought he was one of the chickens to the point that he refused to ever get into the pond we had dug for him and would panic and flap his way out when we gently put him in it. He would waddle around with the flock fitting in as best he could. He wanted to be one of the chickens so badly in fact that after a few months he started laying eggs of his own—which necessitated a name change.Robert wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 10:37 amThey are more decoration and marginal pets. My 15 year old will catch one and bring it in the house to visit. He always gets the same "Get that duck out of the house!" comment, but a few days later, he is back in with one of them. Now they can fly to get away and he just grabs a chicken and brings it in the house for a visit.
Of course, Elon/Elona is always in the house right now until he can twit on his/her own. He has not declared gender yet, so we are being fluid with names and pronouns.

Never tried them raw. Sounds kind of tough to eat that way.QuietlyListening wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 12:59 pm

I grew up eating them that way, all my sisters, my mom and aunt. Now my kids and grandchildren like them that way. Probably an acquired taste but yummy.

Re: In the Garden
Rained yesterday after a long dry spell. Garden looks very nice this morning.
Picking peas. This time filled a household bucket from 3 rows. Last time 4 rows didn't quite fill it.
Strawberries need to be picked today also.

Pulled our snow peas. Still cutting Swiss chard and picking blueberries. Up to almost 2 qts today.
Everything else is growing and looking great. Some rain would be nice.
