And when the EMP hits, it will still run. Good choice.
Good luck finding a manual pump unless you are in the country...
Manual pump as in fuel pump? I will still be using the high pressure fuel pump, (which is in the gas tank) but with a fuel pressure regulator that has a fuel return built in for residual fuel/pressure. BTW, I do live in the country.
I presumed he meant a manual pump to fill the tank.

I guess I demonstrated my ignorance. What is EMP?

ElectroMagnetic Pulse, capable of being weaponized to take out electrical and electronic components, such as those used in practically every vehicle built in the last 40 years.

Vacuum tubes were better protected from these things but outside of using a fairly robust faraday cage, all our modern day electronics would go poof if we had a high altitude nuke go off.

Only if they have power connected to them at the time. Anything unplugged and no battery supply should be fine.

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you.
I think I am funnier than I really am.

I would also point out capacitors carry a charge, but I'm not an EMP expert by any stretch of the imagination. Looks like you are right but its more complex depending on the item.

Today I get back to work after a great time with my brother and wife. They treated us to two weeks in Jamaica. We went from 85°F to -10°F in a couple days.

Including the HEI distributor I now have in my truck. It would go all the way back to the beginning of automobile ignition systems, even those using points and condenser, since they essentially work on the pulse principle...

So tell me now, why did we quit using horse and buggy?
