Mother’s Day / Mothers’ Day
PRAYER FOR MOTHERS
May the example of Mary, mother of Jesus, inspire them to live their vocation as Christian mothers and call their children to faith. Guide and protect them in challenging times and help them to continue to trust in you all the days of their life.

Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I had the privilege of delivering the Mother's Day message today at our church. "A tale of 2 mothers", based on Luke 1:5-46 and yes, I read the whole passage. I also shared stories about my mom and the mom of our pastor, Miss Coleen. While I knew my own mother for many years and was blessed by her, I only knew Sister Weatherford for a little more than a year, but God used her to speak to me in a very definite way.
The final statement of my message related to Mary and Elizabeth. It doesn't matter your age, God can still use you to accomplish his purposes.

Blessings to all the mothers out there in Mennonet land.

Of all the old topics i’ve searched, quoted, revived, today i stumbled on one that’s eluded me for years.
Bishop Paprocki / politics-demands / Gen Theology
viewtopic.php?t=1101

Friday night i saw the Northern Lights for the first time, even better, with my family.
Sunday i tried strawberry-rhubarb pie for the first time, even better, with my family.

Life keeps happening. Not always sad news. :D

P.219:

His unsaved sister is renting his house across the street, and one of the provisions for her staying in the house is church attendance, which is easy for him to monitor.

She's tried excuses to get out of it, but having been behind bars, he knows them all. :D
Worth a revisit. :D
