I would agree that the way Trump addressed the 2020 elections was not the best. I think he and several others made some bad choices. I do agree that the elections were not clean and clear. I still think there is some very corrupt things going on. I also think there are ways of voting that should be outlawed and voter ID should be mandatory.

I feel the same way if Republicans were winning, which they did in many 2022 elections. I do not trust them to run things open and honestly either.

i refreshed this 2018 thread - after reading 22 pages! :D

Because it was so interesting to read members’ response AFTER he’d been in office awhile.
After all, his election was supposed to be THE END OF THE WORLD.

It wasn’t.

It was interesting to read as members described THEIR thought processes and beliefs .. with some predictable die-hard exceptions, this thread represented a good, helpful dialogue of responses - not speculation, not accusations - responses to reality.

From Canada, haithabu contributed, so did Hats Off, Wade, others. 22 interesting pages. PeterG posted.

i didn’t intend for this to be a continuation of other contentious threads. :-|

J6 happened. fwiw.
I admit, i very much enjoyed a few years when threats of nuclear war were put on a back burner.
i’m not a fan of “career politics as normal” as some want to cling to. i don’t like some definitions of “normal.”

call me shallow, but a few hours’ kerfluffle in DC as opposed to daily threats of nuclear war, isn’t a real choice. for one thing.

Still wondering where haithabu has gone, and praying he’s well.
Last i recall, he was posting in the Coronovirus / Ivermectin threads, some of his family had it .. .. ??

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

Hi friends,
Mennonet is fairly a-political these days. :D
However, I'm curious how the current MennoNet community is reacting to the Trump presidency...so I thought I'd create a poll.

Please pick the perspective closest to where you are (even if you are only a casual observer) .

You can elaborate on your decision below...
however it would be nice if we could have this discussion not primarily to convince anyone for or against the president,

but rather to respectfully help others understand our reasons for our response to Trump's presidency as you see it.
Notice in Dan’s first sentence: “a-political”!
Most comments were constructive. Interesting 22 pages of mixed views, no drama.

i didn’t intend to incite partisan negatives.
