A positive spin on T1's thread. What are your favourite news sources? (Yes I just spelled it that way. Don't care if spell check thinks it's wrong!) Which are most likely to present unbiased news? I think if someone wants to make billions in the USA right now they ought to start a news agency where those writing/reporting get fired if someone can tell which way their bias runs. I think it would be wildly popular.

I really don't have favourites I survey the news stories, get updates from the various canonical colleges and then make up my own mind.

FWIW, in a perfect world a bias-free news source would be possible. Alas, this is a broken world in need of Jesus and any news source will reflect the leanings of editorial perceptions.

These sites are really helpful for assessing what the standard news sites report:

• http://www.snopes.com
• https://www.factcheck.org
• http://www.politifact.com

In general, never trust any one news site. Never trust two news sites who are just copying each other. Never trust speculation or rumors or anonymous sources. Wait for the news to come in and be well understood, compare multiple sources.

The bottom three have had their own level of discreditation through this election cycle. Each were found to be distorting facts and manipulating information to guide their "facts."

So even the fact checkers are biased.
