I really don't appreciate your pot-shots at Boot.

Just because you almost "worship" Carson doesn't mean that those of us who don't are "unhinged". I was pretty disappointed when Carson put his weight behind Trump. That action spoke louder than words.
no surprise about boot. i don't enjoy it, either.
please don't presume my worship for anyone. i will do the same for you.

MN has this category for current events and politics. not my decision, on MD or MN.
members may begin topics of their interest. if so objectionable, they may be deleted. i do not protest deletion of posts-threads.

un·hinged

adjective

mentally unbalanced; deranged.
"the violent acts of unhinged minds"
Is that really the the only response you're going to give me? Are you still saying you value critical thinking? If so, why not respond to the substance of my posts instead of calling me names?

You are free to post, I am free to respond. For the most part, the culture wars don't bring us joy or wisdom, but if you keep posting these things, I'll keep responding.

I kind of agree with this. Let's not get back into the verbal banter we started to move away from.

I'd love to avoid that kind of verbal banter, and I think I'm trying to. I'm doing my best to focus on substance.

But I really do think the culture wars cause us to ignore biblical teaching and cast all things in light of "liberal" versus "conservative". And so often, this is done by saying "this is the right opinion to have, and if you disagree, I will make sure everyone knows what I think of you".

I'd rather discuss subjects - really discuss them - with freedom for people to have various opinions, but without taking potshots at each other.

Let's put the priority on making room for discussion. Let's not put the priority on protecting potshots and ensuring that they can disrupt any discussion.

From an "outside" perspective, I think that you're overstepping things with these kinds of statements. Boots posts typically seem quite intelligible; though different than yours.
There's a huge difference between personal attacks and "attacks" on your specific views about a politician.

Just read he may be accepting the Secretary of HUD. I would be very pleased to see that happen. I think he would do great there. I am encouraged by some of the people Trump is actually looking at. Not the good ole boy normal picks.

(i believe) Trump received many votes because of the numbers of good, and willing, others making themselves evident during the campaign. Others who would have been overlooked/dismissed, if he did not win.

Trump was never a true conservative, so, why would anyone have expected "good ole boy" picks? .. i.e., only if they only listened to his opposition! - no surprise there.

successful business people know how to delegate, they have to, or fail.
thankfully, he has numbers of good people to delegate-to!

one person cannot run the U.S. on his/her own.
it was never planned that way, not from the beginning.

the media hypes presidential elections. it's easier and most profitable for them.
i recall on MD, after obama, the question came up about, "is POTUS a beauty contest?"
in many ways, yes, it is.

i understand your pov. there's a history you will never know about; thankfully. not worth knowing about. not just between boot and i. many voices have gone missing.

thank you for recognizing my words as a statement (not labeling them as pot-shots, or other.)
i was trying to make a statement.

Any idea what he would do as Secretary of HUD? I agree with Carson when he says this:
Carson wrote:our inner cities are in terrible shape and they definitely need some real attention.
Has he said anything about what kind of attention our inner cities need from HUD? It's quite possible that Carson would be a great HUD secretary, I'd like to see that happen.
Carson wrote:After serious discussions with the Trump transition team, I feel that I can make a significant contribution particularly to making our inner cities great for everyone.
Let's hope he does that. That's what he will be measured by. He isn't even in office yet, we'll see how he does.

i'm choosing to not respond to those comments.
