This thread's OP is pretty basic.
if ya'll want to discuss who you voted for (with or without political billboards) that's fine with me .. good topic for another thread. :D

Some thoughts from Page 3 -

I don't see a big problem with him saying that.
i appreciate many of your thoughts, post-Trump election, and agree with this one, along with several others.

to me, they indicate you are not afraid of Trump, not buying into the hype,
which is a position of peace faith provides. :D

do you pray for leaders?

yes, those in Chicago/area believe they ARE the State of Illinois. those south of I-80 do not agree, or appreciate.

I'm pretty sure that Kingdom Christians are just strangers and aliens in the State of Illinois, and would never think of saying that they are the true representatives of the average citizen.

Is it biblical? Is it Christlike? Is it loving? Is it true? How can I find out?

many think:
If career politicians and lawyers were good for U.S. government,
the U.S. would be thriving! - not choking on human law. :-|

appleman2006 wrote:Just to clarify a few things.
I did not see Trump as a better option than Clinton. I just did not see him as any worse.
I certainly would not of voted in this election for lots of reasons.

8 years ago I had severe misgivings about President Obama as well, most of which have proved to be true but I remember hoping against hope that I would be proved wrong.
I wanted him to succeed. Just as I now hope that Trump does.

Bootstrap, I disagree though with one statement that you made. In regards to the speed that your society accepted a immoral president. Surly you jest.

Immorality among your presidents is not a new thing. It has long been accepted by many.
Probably there are few times in history though where both candidates failed so miserably in this category. But to castigate on side over the other on this point makes no sense in this election.

But I again make the point that I fear you missed and that was that a sizable amount of the electorate saw the left as being every bit if not more bigoted as the right and they were tired of it.

They were tired of the imbalance in reporting. (Case in point when the Dems got caught actually being responsible for the violence at the Trump rallies and it barely hit the news when everybody knows had it been reversed that would of been front page news for the rest of the campaign).

They got tired of a bunch of Hollywood elites pretending to be on the side of good when one knows that almost all they stand for is selfishness and corruption.

They got tired of the hypocrisy of someone like Hillary calling out Trump on his morality and then allowing bands to play at her events that almost made Trump look like an angel. I could go on for awhile but...

So again I do not see what Carson did in this election as being something I could encourage but nor do I think it made him an evil man. I will leave it at that.
because of recent political topics, i have been thinking of some of appleman’s input on this present administration. this seems consistent “appleman” pov.; imho, great for rereading.

i have not reviewed this thread. i was searching for some of appleman’s thoughts. found this example.

In this report there is a 2min video clip of Dr Carson responding to questions.
It’s evident he’s quite aware of the “gotcha” mentality in the press+politics.

“In a split with Trump, Ben Carson calls for a national abortion ban”
https://www.aol.com/news/split-trump-be ... 06804.html

Book: “The Perilous Fight”
.. In his new book, in addition to calls for banning abortion, Carson also calls for cuts to federal assistance for single mothers.

"Many of the welfare programs enacted by our government have locked recipients into a cage of dependence from which they can find no escape," Carson writes. "We are incentivizing people to raise children outside of traditional families, which means we are pushing parents to make decisions we know will be harmful to their children. These systems must stop. Not immediately, of course. There would need to be a three-to-five-year waiting period so people can make alternate plans."

The Trump campaign is still in the early stages of the running mate selection process, according to sources who have spoken with NBC News, as he and his top aides remain focused on his criminal trial in New York City, which takes up four days a week.

But abortion has been an issue Trump is considering when it comes to choosing a running mate, sources close to him told NBC News in March, and the Democratic group EMILY’s List has already made it clear that it plans to go after whoever his pick is as an “extremist“ on the issue.

Politically, i believe DJT is responding correctly to the rabid lib screams on abortion.

i appreciate what Dr Carson has to say.
Regardless of laws, people can choose to do better than “what is legal.”

Unfortunately, with laws comes gov-funded indoctrination, lies, funding - - things that work directly+effectively AGAINST better choices. It’s a package deal: Things that make lobbyists rich - - who cares about families, women, and their children??!

Book: “The Perilous Fight”

“Ben Carson calls for making divorce harder”
https://www.aol.com/news/ben-carson-cal ... src=aolapp
.. “For the sake of families, we should enact legislation to remove or radically reduce incidences of no-fault divorce,”
Carson writes in “The Perilous Fight,” released Tuesday.

“The reason this matters is that no-fault divorce legally allows marriages to end much more quickly than in previous decades.
When there are relatively few legal or financial consequences connected with divorce, it’s natural for people to gravitate toward that option when their marriage hits a rough patch,” he adds. “What those people often don’t consider, however, is the harm — both present and future — inflicted on their children once a divorce is finalized.” ..

There’s so much room for thought.

Even if people do not want to obey God, I think it would be a net improvement if secular, God despising, society would make divorce harder than it currently is in the West.
