The correct term is PUBLIC property, not government property.

And they aren't extraneous if the public who owns them, put them there.

They don't need it taught to them. They already know what it is because the world in which they live has gay people in it. They will encounter gay people in their lives and families and in the lives and families of their friends. No amount of desperate denialism on your part with change reality. If you interact with children you can either choose to lie to them about this or be honest with them. Its your choice.

But if you are a teacher it is your job to teach them about the real world that they live in, not some fantasy world that exists only in your imagination.

Any flag other than the U.S. flag can no longer be flown or displayed at any U.S. State Department facilities because of a provision included in the government funding bill, reversing a 2021 State Department authorization that said U.S. embassies could display LGBTQ+ pride flags.
