i think so.
i think the bill attempts to be limited and specific. i hope it’s broad enough to include logos and lighting.
these things should have never been allowed, by way of common sense.

A school district in Oregon tried the same thing a couple years ago and it was found by the courts to be an unconstitutional infringement on freedom of expression and was ultimately rescinded: https://www.opb.org/article/2023/01/17/ ... ettlement/
Wonder who decides where to draw the line? That's probably up to whoever is the judge.

^^In this case, from what Timcast is saying in his video, this particular painted intersection seems to attract young guys with cars ..
i believe it rises to the label of ATTRACTIVE NUISANCE, that has the potential of physically harming or killing someone.
ATTRACTIVE NUISANCE usually relates to private property owners .. but, “if the shoe fits” ..

The practice of allowing flags-logos, etc. on government property should have never been. It’s gone ‘way too far.
Removal is just after-the-fact correction.

Right.

Some colored paint on the highway MADE ME break the law and drive like a reckless maniac. I doubt that defense argument is even going to fly in Florida.

HB 901 is not about attractive nuisances.

Elsewhere, it’s not uncommon for privileges to be removed, if they’re not used as intended.

For example, when our son was in middle school, the boys misbehaved enough in school restrooms, doors to stalls were removed.
It didn’t require an act of Congress.

No argument from me.

These idiots should have their cars removed and their driving privileges revoked if they can't control themselves on the public highways. That is the obvious answer.

Police are conscientious about ticketing for reckless driving. All ages.

Extraneous flags+logos need to be removed from government property.
Should have never been allowed.

Highly divisive Pride flags shouldn’t be on public property anywhere, period.

It wasn't a flag. It was a crosswalk painted in rainbow colors.

And yes, this country does have a long and rich history of art in public spaces, even art that some dislike. That fact that you or someone else doesn't like it doesn't give you veto power.

"Art" should not preempt the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, which is where the proper striping for crosswalks is stipulated.
