Boehner
McCarthy

Emmer
Johnson
Jordan
Hern
Donalds
Anybody want to try rating these folks? or at least some of them?

I would put Boehner and McCarthy the most centrist with Jordan and Johnson together at the fringe. The rest, I don't know.

So why do you think the centrists voted for Johnson?

They were coerced and probably got tired of the clown show.

Supposedly Johnson is the House's first Evangelical speaker.

So is this the kind of outcome that that guy Matt Gaetz was hoping for?

They were hoping to punish McCarthy for agreeing to negotiate with the Democrats and for bringing the budget resolution to the floor that prevented a government shutdown.

If Johnson turns out to be more subservient and acquiescent to Gaetz and his band or extremists (compared to McCarthy) then it will be the outcome that he wanted. If Johnson turns out to have a backbone and governs like a legitimate Speaker of the House is supposed to, and does his job which is to manage the House, bring legislation to the floor, and keep the government funded, then it will have been for naught.

won't he suffer the same fate as the previous speaker?

Yet the eight led by Gaetz, sided with the Democrats to oust McCarthy. Makes no sense.
