Its a concern of mine as well. However, Johnson's argument was that states changed their election procedures during Covid. He did not get behind the claims that there was wide spread voter fraud that I am aware of.Dan Z wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 10:08 amMy biggest concerns (that, frankly, raise some integrity questions) are his participation in placating and perpetuating Trump's 2020 election fantasies, and his bent toward voting for hard-line democracy-harming solutions like shutting the government down and invalidating the election results. Now that he's "the man," we'll see how he leads.

If he "truly" believed there was wrongdoing in his heart (as many including myself do) then it seems it's not his integrity should not be in question. If he was lying about it yes it would be- if I understand the meaning of integrity correctly.Ernie wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2023 10:29 pmIts a concern of mine as well. Now we know. He has hidden it well.According to three GOP sources, Johnson has also hired a key former staffer to lead his policy department: Dan Ziegler.
Ziegler worked for the Louisiana Republican while he led the Republican Study Committee, a large House GOP caucus that aims to shape the party's legislative vision. Ziegler left the Hill to work for Williams & Jensen, which he's now departing for to join the speaker's office. He is a known face and name in House Republican circles.

Re: House Speaker is An Enemy of Social Security
The following is a statement on Rep. Johnson from Alex Lawson, Executive Director of Social Security Works:
Rep. Mike Johnson has a long history of hostility towards Social Security and Medicare. As Chair of the Republican Study Committee from 2019-2021, Johnson released budgets that included $2 trillion in cuts to Medicare and $750 billion in cuts to Social Security, including:
Raising the retirement age
Decimating middle class benefits
Making annual cost-of-living increases smaller
Moving towards privatization of Social Security and Medicare
