Here people can see all the evidence from the oversight committee so far. Opening an impeachment inquiry will give them more leverage to acquire information that has either been withheld or stonewalled. \

So apparently not one single specific allegation of any specific acts of wrong doing on the part of Joe Biden. Not one. It is just nothing but a bunch of innuendo.

Nowhere in the entire pile of nonsense that the House has compiled to you find one single actionable allegation. That, for example, on X-date, Joe Biden did X specific thing which broke X-specific law.

This is in contrast to every single other impeachment from Watergate to Monica Lewinski to Trump where there were very specific and detailed actionable allegations. For example, people may not have thought that Bill Clinton's actions rose to the level of impeachment. But there was no question about what he was alleged to have done, when he was alleged to have done it, and what laws it allegedly violated.

So it is apparently nothing but a giant fishing expedition. Which is unlikely to find anything since this is the 5th time all this stuff has been investigated and none of the other four investigations turned up any evidence of wrong doing.

And yet the European Union report clearly states...
They had to make that determination to release the next batch of IMF funding.
So the same EU that said the "attorney general" of Ukraine had to go because he wasn't doing a good enough job fighting corruption, writes a report that basically says the "attorney general" of Ukraine set up anti-corruption mechanisms that meets the anti-corruption benchmark they said had to be met in order to get funding from the same IMF that said the "attorney general" of Ukraine wasn't doing enough to fight corruption and had to go. But yeah, we'll go ahead and release the money anyway.

That sure makes a lot of sense.

And then Joe Biden comes along, as Vice President of the US, after the US had concluded that anti-corruption measures in Ukraine were coming along well enough to release even more funds to Ukraine and tells Ukraine they won't get the money unless the "attorney general" of Ukraine, who set up anti-corruption mechanisms deemed adequate enough to get more US funding, is fired.

That makes a lot of sense as well.
They didn't say corruption was eliminated. They said that whatever procedural "benchmark" they had set up was sufficiently achieved to release the next batch of funds. Completely different thing. That is how bureaucracies sometimes work.

It is like a football team. The first benchmark might be to show up to the football game on time and in uniform. The second benchmark might be to not turn the ball over. The third benchmark might be to get a first down. The 10th benchmark might be to win the game. The 11th benchmark might be to win the next game. The 47th benchmark might be to have a winning season. The 55th benchmark might be to make the playoffs. The 57th benchmark might be to win a playoff game. And the 99th benchmark might be to win the Superbowl or national championship.

The Biden administration's attempt to manipulate the free press on coverage of Republicans' impeachment inquiry

Every politician, political campaign, and administration tries to manipulate press coverage to their advantage. That is why they have press offices. That is the most unsurprising thing ever.

I doubt it is primarily a fishing expedition. I think it is just to make a political statement.

Perhaps the word “manipulation” is the best word to use. The White House ordering the press to go after Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry is beyond manipulation, but it is what dictators do.

The White House memo to the press said, “It’s time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry”.

Add to that, according to a federal appeals court, they found the Biden Administration probably violated the First Amendment by coercing social media platforms, sending them threatening and intimidating messages ordering them to take down content they didn’t like.

It will weaken Biden as a presidential candidate. LOL...as if he isn't doing that all himself. He lies almost every time he makes a speech. On Thursday he spoke at the Prince George community College. He made the claim he taught political theory for four years. However Biden served only two years, from 2017 to 2019 and never taught any classes.

A few days ago he claimed he was at Ground Zero the day after the towers fell. But it has been confirmed by fact checkers, he was in Washington DC that day. He claimed to have witnesses a Pittsburgh bridge collapse. He was in Pittsburgh that day, but didn't see it collapse. And those were the lies just this week.

I think Biden's "lies" are mostly inaccurate memories, such as Trump saying he saw the plane hit the first tower on 9/11 on TV. They aren't the deliberate lies Biden's predecessor tells many times in each speech.

I sure wish we'd have better candidates. Biden has accomplished a lot, but I don't like these kinds of errors either. We all have inaccurate "memories" but this is too much.

Meant to say "manipulation" ISN"T the best word to use.
