i’m surprised at CO concern about military readiness, regardless of cause.Szdfan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:17 pmHe’s complaining about poems being read over the loudspeaker. For me, “broadcasting” is the word in question.
i’m sure there has always been lots of poetry in the military, of all descriptions; certainly, many men read Bibles, carried small NTs, etc. Often given by loved ones fervently praying for their safe return. There were always military chaplains.
“Broadcasting” is a different matter, esp on such huge craft, which are compared to being floating cities.
Tuberville holding up military promotions is causing more problems for military readiness and the institution’s ability to function than poetry night on the USS Gerald R. Ford.
not that i buy “broadcasted” politically motivated claims, whinings, accusations, etc. (so many turn out to be hoaxes.)
there are differing levels of willingness to drink the kool-aid.
In the past, abortions would have been a non-issue for air craft carriers.ohio jones wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:35 pm Good Morning Warship!

Presently, with bio women in all phases of the military, and “men can birth babies,” here it is.
Question:
Are men who conceive as interested in abortion as women who conceive?

I don’t care about military preparedness. I do care about poetry and I find Tuberville’s grandstanding ridiculous even if I don’t support the military.temporal1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 11:36 pmi’m surprised at CO concern about military readiness, regardless of cause.Szdfan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 10:17 pmHe’s complaining about poems being read over the loudspeaker. (i find) picking up+reciting lib political talking points, without any scrutiny whatsoever, proven unwise. “you do you.”.. Tuberville’s grandstanding ridiculous ..
don’t fret, i’m sure poetry is alive+well in the military, and nothing new .. no matter baseless political smear campaigns thrown out (broadcast) far+wide, aimed at those just like you.
i suggest not jumping on every bandwagon. you’re not getting any younger.

What’s more important?
Military readiness? Officers getting promoted to top brass so they can get fatter pay checks and then go on to lucrative consulting careers?
Or little babies being mangled and aborted?

You haven’t noticed the pattern?
biden spouts off on something .. it immediately runs through msm and gov ed like widlfire .. so smoothly+efficiently, any question is treated with feigned astonishment (aka, “normalizing” in public circles - without benefit of debate). The cheerful water carriers are many.
An example of methodology:
“Harvard was ranked last for free speech. Here’s what the students are saying”
“One student said free speech was not encouraged at Harvard, but later asked to remain off camera out of fear of backlash”

no doubt you do. keep Jussie Smollett in mind. he makes a good object lesson for not rushing to judgment.Szdfan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 8:14 amI think you're frequently one of the worst examples of what you condemn in others.temporal1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 11, 2023 6:34 am(i find) picking up+reciting lib political talking points, without any scrutiny whatsoever, proven unwise. “you do you.”.. I wonder how many generals the military had in WW2, with that size of military, and this country being at war, compared to today, peacetime, smaller military, and no war.
I don’t see why halting promotions is a bad thing either.

If you think Tuberville is right then you should especially be upset that he is making himself into a laughing stock by kvetching about poetry in the military. Which is the subject of this thread.
Because all that does is make him look like the the worst sort of unserious performative "know-nothing" culture warrior.
