As far as I can tell, there is zero public evidence that the cocaine had anything to do with either Joe Biden or Hunter Biden. If that changes, then there will be quite a story here.
Grace wrote: Mon Jul 17, 2023 4:31 pmHowever we can be sure that, in the most secure place in this country the secret service DOES KNOW who the cocaine belonged to. If they don't know that at this point, they are incompetent. And we can be sure it wasn't some low level White House staff person, because if it was, the Secret Service would have revealed that and the person fired.
I disagree. When there is zero evidence, you can't really be sure of much. This is speculation.

How exactly do you expect the Secret Service to know who this belongs to? Even if they had cameras, do you think the bag of cocaine was carried out in the open, or was it inside something?

Never in the history of the White House, was cocaine found on the premises. But now we have a resident in the White House who has a long history of drug addiction, specifically a cocaine addiction, according to his own computer. And we ask who could have brought that cocaine into the White House? Was it the staff? Hardly, as they are routinely drug tested. Was it the Secret Service? Very little chance of that as well. Was it the White House mess/food staff? They are drug tested as well. It is pretty obvious; it was left there by someone in the Biden Family. Or someone real close to the Biden Family who was escorted in.

The cocaine was found in a little cubby that had to be closed using fingers and possibly a key. The cubby area is monitored by a guard. For the secret Service to say they have no proof who the cocaine belonged to, is ridiculous. They know who it belonged to and have been ordered to not reveal it.

Drug testing might reveal if someone has been using cocaine, but says nothing about whether they carry it around and stash it somewhere. I do think it was someone connected with the White House mess.

No, it is not obvious at all. To the contrary, it is exceedingly unlikely. The White House is a sprawling complex with multiple entrances. The cocaine was found at the entrance to the West Wing which is where the staff offices, press rooms, and other administrative offices are. The first family lives in the 2nd floor of the executive residence which has its own separate entrances. Members of the First Family would not be entering and exiting through the West Wing.

Perhaps a visual aid would help

I watched a lot of episodes of The West Wing so that makes me an expert. The First Family was entering and exiting the west wing all the time.

That seems accurate. This other visual may also be helpful.

Here, the main image shows the "Main Entrance", where the public comes in (top), and the "South Portico Entrance", which is used by the President and his family, but also for ceremonial purposes when welcoming heads of state, etc.

In the lower right-hand corner, you can see that both are in the grey box marked "Area of Detail". The "West Wing" is a separate wing, off to the West. And I can't think of a reason to expect Hunter Biden to enter and exit there.

More on where the president's family lives:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Residence
The Executive Residence is the central building of the White House complex located between the East Wing and West Wing. It is the most recognizable part of the complex, being the actual "house" part of the White House. This central building, first constructed from 1792 to 1800, is home to the president of the United States and the first family.
This Google Map identifies the entrance where the cocaine was found, according to the Secret Service report:

West Executive Avenue entrance to the White House

Members of the first family have access to all parts of the White House, so your point is moot. I believe the cocaine was dropped at that location for one of the Biden Family members.

I'm trying to imagine Hunter Biden setting this up ...

"Hey, I'd like you to drop off 207.6 milligrams of cocaine, that's .007 ounces. I don't want to buy a gram, that's way too much, I can't afford $200.00. And please put it in a locker in the area where the Press Corp and the main offices are, not in the private areas that only the President's family uses, I really want it in a more public area."

That's your theory?

If we're going to speculate, here's another scenario: What if someone else planted it there in order to create headlines to make the Bidens look bad? I have no proof of that either, but it feels more plausible to me. But to me, the most likely scenario is that someone who uses cocaine left it in the locker, and this person is very unlikely to be Hunter Biden.

Someone who uses cocaine is Hunter Biden. The whole world knows this and is probably wondering why he is staying there anyways. What happened that he has to live at the White House now?

Someone who uses cocaine is Hunter Biden.
We know that he was addicted to cocaine, and has said so publicly. I don't know whether he is still using cocaine or not. But regardless, there's no evidence that links him to this cocaine, and I am having a hard time imagining how this would be Hunter. See above.

People do plant drugs to try to get at someone. Politics has gotten really, really nasty and unscrupulous in the United States. There are also lots of people who use drugs. Both of these scenarios seem to fit the facts better. Again, this is speculation, just like your speculation. But I think the truth is that we don't know where that cocaine came from.

I don't know if he is actually living there or not.

But it's not unusual for a President's children to live in the White House or to dine their frequently. I've heard it's a nice place. Families sometimes like to be together. How did this become a crime?

One possible scenario: Perhaps Hunter is in a recovery program, and it's best for him to monitor who he has relationships with. Addicts are often told they need to avoid hanging out with their old crowd. Again, this is just speculation, but if Hunter is actually living in the White House, this could be a reason.
