Side thread: US-Canada Trade War

Post by Bootstrap »

This is a thread for less serious discussion of the US-Canada Trade War, for those who think this is at least a little funny.

I suggest we organize an event on the Rainbow Bridge where we throw eggs at each other. I suspect that's a more mature approach than some of our political leaders are taking - and better informed, too.

They can throw us their superior eggs and we can throw them our superior cheese. Afterward, since this is a side thread, we can share side hugs.

By the way, what is American cheese called in Canada?

Processed cheese. After all, it isn't exactly cheese ...

There are several grades. The best grade is American Cheese, which can be marketed as cheese with no qualifiers. A grade down from that is American Cheese PPCP (pasteurized process cheese product) which must be labeled as such. Most people aren't not be able to tell the difference, but there is not enough price difference in my opinion to bother with the cheaper grade so I sell the real stuff.

Sorry to introduce seriousness into your silly thread.

OK. But I'll keep buying big blocks of cheddar, I don't like American cheese as well.

Just out of curiosity, what cheeses do you sell? And what is the price range?

I'd like the white cheddar, please, extra sharp. One of my favorite everyday cheeses.

I'd like a taste of the brick and the Parmesan and the goat ... I like them all, a lot, if they are really good.

Well, in the spirit of trade wars, I must tell you that the Super Sharp Cheddar in the list is Canadian in origin and is $12.99 lb.

American cheese I know, but what is Canadian cheese? Maybe the powdered stuff on Kraft dinner?
