It doesn’t make any sense at all to think the U.S. District of Columbia is not crawling with “The World’s Best” police+military and “intelligence” - on-any-given-day. This is not the minor leagues.

The overall media response reflects how hungry media consumers are: For a certain prescribed narrative.
They can’t get enough, fast enough. “Feed me, feed me!”

They [The?] media and many Democrats are desperately attempting to take the focus off all that has transpired in this nation and abroad since January 20, 2022 [2021?]. We have record high inflation, high gas prices, crime out of control, crisis at our border, lifted sanctions on Russia, emboldening Putin to invade Ukraine etc. The media and Democrats are using January 6th as a diversion away from the downward slide in the current state of affairs in this nation.

Neat trick: Grant yourselves access to unlimited spending, exploit a major diversion to keep eyes+ears busy, then spend+implement to your heart’s content. You didn’t mention the horrors going on in public ed, SCOTUS, increased violence+murders, et al. Pigs in hog heaven.

it’s about an hour, i try to view when members go to the trouble to add content here.

i’d like to think i would live to see balance in mainstream reporting. it’s wanted and needed.
i’m not optimistic. i’m sorry to say. they get away with so much.
it would require a lot to clean up mainstream media - including overhaul of the DOE. they hire graduates.

Nielsen, the people who do television ratings, said at least 20 million viewers watched, on par with a major Sunday Night Football game or the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

But to me, ratings aren't really the most important question. Here's what I care about: If we don't want January 6th to repeat, we have to make sure that we can investigate it, find out what happened, shine a light on the people who did it, and be very clear that disrupting elections is not OK, that Congress needs to be able to do their work in safety, and that this is not the way we handle disagreements about elections in a civilized country.

And January 6th really did happen.

from the 1960’s forward, i’m so accustomed to marches, protests, some getting out of hand, many turned violent, many destructive to the tune of billions in damages - mostly by lib causes; Jan 6, in comparison is so small, so short, so .. unimportant, nope, not worried.

there are SO MANY THINGS i would like to NEVER REPEAT. i’m not holding my breath.

a few hours?? this doesn’t hit any radar compared to lib dramatic affairs. they carry on for MONTHS, no expense spared, with local gov literally carry water to them. water, and a whole lot more.
