Yep. Local churches around me, even those headed by women pastors, have paid the “jizya” (which can be in the millions of dollars) to exit the UMC. They even got new road signs to take the words “United Methodist” off them.MaxPC wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 8:31 am ~60% of the membership has exited.

One church near here stayed UMC but will probably be closing soon. Very poor attendance.
