Thai Soccer Team Trapped in Cave

Post by Once Again »

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... nfall.html

"Two doctors volunteer to STAY with children trapped in Thai cave for FOUR MONTHS if floodwaters cut them off and make rescue attempts impossible, as divers prepare to take pork and rice to survivors
Twelve Thai boys aged 11-16 and football coach were lost in Thamg Luang cave in Chiang Rai for nine days
All of the group were miraculously found starving but alive by two British volunteer cave divers on Monday
Family members who feared their kids were dead rejoiced as they heard confirmation they'd been found alive
Experts said boys may have to wait for months for water levels to subside because they can't swim or dive
Two Thai Navy doctors have volunteered to stay with the trapped children until the water levels are lower
But there are fears of rain fall in the coming days meaning boys may have to learn to dive and swim through narrow gaps themselves"

Praying for these boys and their coach.

Yes, I can imagine how desperate their families must feel. I hope they are able to get them out soon; it seems to me that staying four months in the cave is too dangerous.

I keep hearing updates while listening to Christian radio- they are considering teaching the children to swim/dive- so they can actually get out- there are those diving in & bringing them food now as they are very weak-

Praying for a miracle for these boys, and, now, for all involved with their rescue.

Cave diving is dangerous, even for experienced, strong, healthy men.
The present conditions here are described as, dark, with strong river currents, with underwater passages too narrow in places for one rescue diver to bring one victim through.

The boys are stressed, probably in shock, possibly ill, under nourished, weak.
Not sure they could manage easy swim lessons, let alone lessons in these conditions; the hard journey would require strength, and, training, just in how to keep from panic, under water and “blind.”

The doctors volunteering to stay with them are deeply self-sacrificial.
It will be a miracle for THEM to survive this.

This is a time to pray for abundant grace, and, many miracles; strength for loved ones to endure in faith. A terrible situation. But, not too big for God.

.. Thai rescuers are racing against time to drain water from a third chamber in the cave complex where a youth soccer squad is stuck -- but with monsoon rains looming,

 there's only a tiny window to save the team before fresh floods could trap the group for months to come.

The rescuers have made such progress draining water from the cave that the boys have a chance to walk out without resorting to using diving equipment, which initially seemed like the only option that could free the team. ..

Wow- the man gave his life for these- no greater love hath a man! Lord have mercy on His soul. It would be hard knowing that this man died to rescue 'us'. May the Lord give comfort and perseverance to all involved and may He hold back the weather until all are safely rescued- may He give comfort to the loved ones waiting and hoping for their return- not being aware of their faith, I don't know if they are praying to God- we know Christians in Thailand, by and large it is not a country who acknowledges or believes in God- some, being aware of God, may be turning to Him in hope- I know folks from Viet Nam who came to Christ in their 'boating' and turned to the true and living God in desperate times and became Christians then-
