At a school meeting, I was sitting at the back but couldn't hear well enough so i moved to a front seat on the far side of the room. One discussion we were all asked to comment. Because of where I moved to I was the last one to comment - I was also the oldest present so I told the group "now listen to me, I am the oldest and I get the last word!"

i often think “what schools need,” is a widespread return of grandparents+great-grandparents into classrooms, Pre-K-college.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

Hats Off: I think that if I'm the oldest person in the room I'd better say my piece first since I might drop dead at any time.

A green banana walks into a bar....

Heard another colloquialism yesterday at church. A parent talking about their teen called him a "text-maniac". It refers to someone who can't tear themselves away from texting on their phone.
