A rather large complaint I raise against Haman is his scheme to destroy the line of David and defeat the prophecy of the Messiah. Conversely, I have praise for Mordecai and Esther for defeating him.

Following the sin in the Garden of Eden, God prophesied that the Savior would come through the woman, through Abraham, through Isaac, through Jacob, through King David, etc. He chose the Jewish people through which to bring the Scriptures, the Messiah, and the Gospel to the world. There were many attempts to disrupt that plan. Pharaoh and the Egyptians tried to kill them. Other countries and people, such as Haman, tried to destroy them. The Jewish people themselves were disobedient and forsook God. But through all of that God was faithful to His promises, and at the right time brought Jesus into the world to be our Savior. Rom. 11:28 referring to the Jews says "As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes, but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes." The word election here is referring to the role the people of Israel has played in bringing the Scriptures, the Messiah, and the Gospel to the world. (For more on this, study Isa. 40-66.)

The Jews are not to be excused for the wrongs they have committed, and for their own rebellion against Jesus. At the same time, we should appreciate them if for no other reason than for the role they have played in the plan of salvation, without which we all would be hopelessly lost.

True, but it's like saying the Koreans or the Amish are also accountable for their rejection of Jesus.

It seems to really strain credulity for anyone to claim that present-day people have any connection to their alleged ancestors 2,000 years ago who participated in the crucifixion of Jesus. Who would that be, anyway? Descendants of Roman soldiers? Nearly all of the Jews who rejected Jesus died in 70 A.D., and many modern-day Jews are the descendants of converts from later times. The "Arab" Christians who live in Nazareth claimed to me that they have continously lived there 2,000 years and the descendants of the people who originally followed Christ.

But to strain this even more is to somehow try to tie things back to Mordecai and Esther...
