Do elaborate, dear brother.
Without going into great detail (which I am apt to do) the bottom line is that we do not have a consummated New Covenant, we have been left waiting at the altar for nearly 2000 years. While we would still be espoused to our Master, we have never been married and are not partakers of being one with Him, do not have right to any of His promises, and the Old Covenant, though obviously unable to be observed according to scripture anymore (no animal sacrifices, no temple, no priesthood, etc) is dead since God removed the possibilities of obedience.
The alternative also is that it was merely coincidence that the city/temple/priesthood were destroyed in AD70, that is was not the agency of Christ returning in vengeance (as He promised) and our religion is vain, based on false prophecies, a false messiah and unfulfilled promises.
He said, "This generation shall not pass til all be fulfilled". Was He wrong? Obviously the futurists who pointed to 1948 as the beginning of "this generation" were wrong, since nothing happened in 1988 no matter what Hal Lindsey and Edgar Wisenant predicted (as well as a host of others).
If Jesus was wrong about these things, then what else was he wrong about? If He did not come back, when and how ("in the same manner") He declared and the angels promised at His ascension, then "we of all people are most miserable".

I serve a Lord who knew what he was talking about, kept His promises, and did what He said He was going to do.

Think about it.
