There are suggestions to read Luke in December, especially to prepare for Christmas Day.
i’m wondering if any MNrs are doing this, and, how?
With family? Alone with a fav Bible? With church members? Online scriptures and/or videos?
i found this short video, with its casual approach, it’s a contemporary take. i’m not opposed.
Whether in spoken words, scriptures, written words, hymns, pictures, sharing the Word is our task,
the Holy Spirit determines outcomes.
i have a dream about how i’d like to read Luke this year. not sure if it will come to be.
Proverbs 16:9 / https://biblehub.com/nlt/proverbs/16-9.htm
For some, this video may offer a starting place to seek more.
“Where to begin?” is a fair question. “Let’s begin!” is a good approach.
The Bible Project / The birth of Jesus - Gospel of Luke Chapters 1-2 (5 minutes)
i understand not all Christians recognize Christmas, December 25, for a few reasons.
This thread is not an attempt to debate “should or should not.”
This thread is meant to be about reading Luke, sharing Luke, and the different ways this is done.
Regardless the time of our earthly calendars. God owns time.

December. Reading Luke?

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

Don’t know that I’ve heard of this before. But maybe we’ll try it this month.

Re: December. Reading Luke?
We have a series of sermons on Luke this December at our church but I was not aware this was something that was „suggested“ (by whom?).

i’m seeing it suggested by different Christian sources. To read 24 chapters of Luke in December.Swiss Bro wrote:We have a series of sermons on Luke this December at our church but I was not aware this was something that was „suggested“ (by whom?).
i wasn’t sure if i’ve just not noticed in the past? or, December 1 is Sunday this year, is that the inspiration? i’m not sure.
Is the Gospel of Luke “going viral” this year? If so, ok.
Here’s one example a local church shared:
This weekend, i’m seeing this message/suggestion in lots of places, different Christian denoms.
The OP video is not new, it must be at least a year old. i don’t know anything about “The Bible Project,” other than viewing that one video. They state they have more videos.

Re: December. Reading Luke?
Audio books are popular, i have not used them, but, i think about doing so.
i have a sister who drove a lot in her work, she used them often.
A reading of Luke:
The Gospel of Luke / New King James / 2 hours 18 min.

You have some really good sources here. I particularly recommend audio recordings of Luke, you can listen to the entire book in a reasonable amount of time.
If you like films, the Jesus Film is also based on Luke and gives you some nice visuals to help picture what is going on.

Is it biblical? Is it Christlike? Is it loving? Is it true? How can I find out?
Re: December. Reading Luke?
Lumo is also worthwhile as a film version of Luke.
