Not much of a rap fan, but the message was right.
i have not listened to, or read the lyrics.
Thanks, I added it to my spotify playlist and will check it out.

Edit: Mennonet is probably the last place I would have expected to get advice for my hip hop playlist from

Salvation is available to everyone. I know very little about KW, but what direction he takes his career will prove how legit he is. Just my take on it.

yep. in Jesus’ eyes, KW is just like the rest of us. are we the real deal? :?
he’s on a bigger stage. eyes are watching.
he will need strength for his journey. unrelenting temptations are after him.

One of my daughters listened to at least one song of the album. She said it is painful (she is not a fan of that style) but she thinks it fits the "Philippians test" that Christ is being preached, so glory in that.

I think of this similarly to Bob Dylan's conversion experience, who am I to judge and why? If he makes half as much worthy music as Dylan did in that period, the world will be a better place. God bless, I hope he encounters faithful mentors.

That being said, some folks I know are convinced he has been mentally ill for some time and is off his meds again. I suppose that is a possibility. I'm pulling for him either way.

A few reports on KW:

Lifesite: “ ‘This is the awakening’: Kanye West talks God, marriage, and large families“

The Blaze: “Kanye West says he's a Christian now.
Here's why it doesn't matter if he's telling the truth“ [Real belief systems don't need celebrity mascots]
https://www.theblaze.com/op-ed/kanye-we ... -the-truth
Kanye West, the artist who has recorded many blasphemous, vulgar lyrics and who spent some time referring to himself as "Yeezus," has now released a Christian album.

And, despite his past work and reputation, the album (titled "Jesus is King") really is Christian.
It explicitly proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord and the way to salvation through its 11 tracks and 27 minutes of music.

The question surrounding Kanye and this album in Christian circles has been whether this apparent turn toward the faith is genuine, or whether it's just the latest in a long line of marketing stunts.

 The answer is simple: We don't know, and it shouldn't really matter.

Of course it matters in the same way that anyone's eternal destiny matters.
Christians should certainly hope and pray that Kanye has put his faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as we should hope that for anyone, famous or not.
But whether he's actually done that is between him and God at this .. ..

i’m stunned. i’m encouraged. (i can’t read every word.) it’s beautiful. it’s inviting.

i will be talking with my grdaughter about it. she, who has learned, she cannot mention her Christian faith or the Bible in her west coast public school. maybe strict intolerance of Christianity is about to ease up on these young ones. :)

this must be some alternate universe wherein i’m going to mention KW’s name to my granddaughter. :-|
