No, I never did hear of Wendy Bagwell, Lester. We were visiting in West VA where snake handling is still legal. Fortunately they didn't use them at the services we visited.
The first time I heard the term, I was about 6 years old and my mother said to my father that she was going to practice the "laying on of hands" if I let the screen door bang one more time.
